City Centre Bahrain is embracing the Holy Month by encouraging residents to give to those less fortunate. Spearheading Majid Al Futtaim’s regional Make a Difference this Ramadan campaign in the Kingdom for five consecutive years, City Centre Bahrain will place special collection boxes inside the mall throughout the Holy Month, where residents can donate new or gently used goods. This year, City Centre Bahrain has enlisted the support of famed Bahraini actress, Haifa Hussain to raise further awareness of this worthy charity campaign.
During Ramadan, residents can make donations across four categories: clothing, non-perishable food items, books and eyeglasses, in specially marked bins located at the Customer Service Desk, near the Central Galleria at City Centre Bahrain. All collected items will then be donated to support the charitable and humanitarian initiatives of New Dawn Society, a Bahraini non-profit association, to support families in need within the community.
A celebrated actress, Haifa Hussain is immensely popular both in her home country and the region, having starred in several outstanding television series most notably Al Laqitta. As the ambassador for City Centre Bahrain’s Make a Difference this Ramadan campaign, Haifa will be leveraging her celebrity status to reach out to the wider community, encouraging residents of the importance of giving to those in need.
In addition to the charity drive, City Centre Bahrain will be hosting a month of Ramadan themed activities with the City Barasti activity station, creating an atmosphere of Arabic hospitality and tradition for visitors. Located on the Ground Floor, in front of Debenhams and Lakeland, the City Barasti will offer guests Arabic coffee and sweets plus cultural entertainment such as a henna artist, a calligrapher, cartoonist and a photo opportunities with a falcon. In addition, live Oud and Qanoon players will set the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. Timings are every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9:00pm – midnight, and daily during the final 10 days of Ramadan.
City Centre Bahrain hosts the Make a Difference this Ramadan annually, and this year boasts Majid Al Futtaim’s largest collective effort to date with 13 malls participating across Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Oman and the UAE. Last year, City Centre Bahrain collected over 2,000 bags of clothing, 2,000 non-perishable foods, 3,600 books, and 140 eyeglasses.
