Final C-shaped works of art commemorated by His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al-Khalifa, Assistant-Undersecretary for Tourism.
After a six day workshop that united the creativity of the Kingdom’s finest artists and an inspiring group of local talents, Majid Al Futtaim and City Centre Bahrain’s ‘Art of C’ community arts initiative concluded yesterday with a ceremony to unveil the final 10 unique works of art. Hosted under the patronage of His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al-Khalifa, Assistant-Undersecretary for Tourism and joined by Senior Mall Manager of City Centre Bahrain, Duaij Khalifa Al Rumaihi and Abbas Al Mousawi, one of the Founders of the Bahrain Arts Society, the event paid tribute to the workmanship of all artists, while celebrating the diversity and richness of the Kingdom’s thriving arts culture in the lead up to 43rd Bahrain National Day.
Inspired by the theme, ‘A Tribute to the Kingdom’, artists from the Bahrain Arts Society joined hands with emerging artists from across the community in the form of a mentored workshop to decorate the C-shaped canvases in a way that celebrated the nation’s culture, history or architecture. Various mixed media were used, including embroidered fabrics, woven palm tree leaves, seashells, coloured glass, paints and calligraphy.
The 10 final C-shaped artworks will be on display as an art gallery in City Centre Bahrain’s across the mall until December 31st.
