City Centre Bahrain, the largest shopping, leisure and entertainment destination in Bahrain, is marking the Holy Month raising awareness on compassion, generosity and solidarity with the support of renowned actress and campaign ambassador Haifa Hussain. In the Kingdom for the sixth consecutive year, Majid Al Futtaim’s regional ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ campaign will encourage visitors to donate everyday essentials to the less fortunate.

Throughout the Holy Month, visitors of City Centre Bahrain can give new or gently used goods such as clothes, eye glasses, books and non-perishable food items in specially marked bins located at the mall. All collected items will then be donated to support The Islamic Association, a charitable and humanitarian local organisation, which supports families in need within the community.
Ambassador for the second consecutive year of City Centre Bahrain’s ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ campaign, Haifa Hussain will be raising awareness on the importance to give to those in need, by reaching out to the wider community.

“To celebrate the traditions and customs associated with the Holy month, City Centre Bahrain is hosting the‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ charity campaign to strengthen the values of generosity and solidarity associated with Ramadan. We are grateful for the support of our campaign ambassador, talented actress Haifa Hussain. As part of Majid Al Futtaim’s promise to create great moments for everyone, everyday, the lifestyle destination will feature traditional entertainment to complement the new décor giving the mall a perfect Ramadan ambience. We hope visitors of all ages will come to City Centre Bahrain to celebrate in togetherness and to give generously to those in need,” said Duaij Khalifa Al Rumaihi, Senior Mall Manager for City Centre Bahrain.

City Centre Bahrain will feature a beautiful new themed décor, creating an atmosphere of Arabic hospitality and tradition. Visitors will enjoy Arabic coffee and sweets as well as cultural entertainment such as Live Oud performances, setting the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. Children will enjoy Gergaoun celebrations as they roam around with the traditional band to receive candy and giveaways from participating retailers.

In addition, the lifestyle destination will be treating visitors with special prizes on June 20, 2015, as part of this year’s celebrations of Majid Al Futtaim City Centre brand’s 20th anniversary. Twenty lucky shoppers at City Centre Bahrain will be randomly selected and will receive vouchers for complimentary Iftar and Suhoor from the mall and participating F&B outlets.

City Centre Bahrain hosts the Make a Difference this Ramadan annually, and this year boasts Majid Al Futtaim’s largest collective effort to date with 17 malls participating across Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Oman and the UAE. Last year, City Centre Bahrain collected over 8,500 donation bags that were distributed to families in need.

The mall will offer extended hours; for the first 20 days of Ramadan from 10am to 1am and for the last ten days from 10am to 2am.
